With a clinical focus on nature connection and family health, Jennifer runs Spring Chicken Family Health, a naturopathic clinic nestled on a permaculture farm in Guelph. She has lectured internationally, written for medical textbooks and
founded a free clinic in Vancouver while participating in alternative medical research nationally. As teaching is her passion, Jennifer has acted as an Assistant Professor and Clinic Faculty at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine

Dr Yash will be keeping busy as the main organizer of the Woods + Wisdom event.
After pursuing a Bachelor’s in Contemplative Psychology with honours, Naturopathic Medicine with its balance of western and eastern medicine and focus on empathic listening was a natural choice for Yash. While at the Canadian College of
Naturopathic Medicine, Yash volunteered her time with the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and Naturopathic Students Association and these contributions resulted in the 2010 Naturopathic Honour Award.
In addition to a private practice with a focus on healthy fertility, Yash wrote 2 study manuals for Naturopathic students studying for NPLEX and is passionate about educating other NDs in herbal medicine.

Topic 1: Open Heart Meditation and Healing
90 min meditation:
In this interactive module Dr. Eliaz will draw on his 25 + years of experience as a mind-body expert and integrative physician to teach participants practical mind-body meditation techniques for healing.
A 90 minute interactive workshop will allow for experiential learning and group practice of various specific mind-body meditation techniques. Dr. Eliaz will teach simple techniques to access the healing mind and understand its inherent qualities. Participants will learn and practice specific exercises such as the well-researched “Calm Abiding” mindful meditation method. Dr. Eliaz will demonstrate and discuss how these exercises enhance innate healing capacities and the ability to help heal others. In addition, mind-body exercises which help patients cope with the side effects of conventional therapies will be taught, along with practical tools to assist beginners in their practice. Learning objectives will be reached with anecdotal discussion and lecturing, together with interactive, guided meditations and specific exercises. Dr. Eliaz will share guidelines and pragmatic tools to apply meditation in a clinical setting and at home, and offer tips for beginners to support their practice. This presentation is suitable for those with no prior meditation experience who are interested in learning a model for meditation and mind-body medicine, as well as experienced meditation practitioners who want to deepen their practice and further enhance their healing capacity.
30 min meditation:
In this interactive 30 minute session, Dr. Eliaz will review meditation and healing practices learned in the prior 90 minute session. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the techniques, ask questions to clarify their understanding, and share their experiences with the group.
Topic 2: Galectin-3 Master Conductor of Inflammation and More - What Every Integrative Practitioner Should Know
In this 3 hour presentaiton, Dr. Eliaz will thoroughly familiarize the audience with Galectin-3 and its wide-ranging influence on health and disease. Elevated Galectin-3 is a critical initiator and driver of chronic degenerative conditions, including cardiovascular, liver kidney disease, neurodegenerative conditions, GI health, autoimmune disease and cancer.
